2020 Nexus USA 3-Day Summit | Washington, D.C.

Who is Nexus?

The NEXUS USA Summit inspires learning and collaboration between a uniquely powerful network of peers by connecting the financial, intellectual, creative, and social capital of our generation in an action-oriented, solutions-focused, and safe space.

Nexus is comprised of a community of exceptional young social entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and impact investors. These individuals are committed to creating a better world through each of their worldwide Summits.

About the location

The United States Institute of Peace is a national, nonpartisan, independent institute, founded by Congress and dedicated to the proposition that a world without violent conflict is possible, practical, and essential for U.S. and global security. In conflict zones abroad, the Institute works with local partners to prevent, mitigate, and resolve violent conflict. 

How did our team manage to capture this entire 3-Day Summit?

We happily took on the challenge and was able to tag-team this 3-day Summit with two of our amazing light-workers. Working smart and efficiently to capture and distribute all of the requested images on the shot-list, they were able to post these images to their social media platforms in real-time.

What are some common challenges of capturing an event of this size?

The 2020 Nexus USA 3-Day Summit in Washington, D.C. hosted approximately 500 guests. With an event of this size, it can be difficult to make sure the appropriate coverage is present at the required panels, plenaries, breakout sessions and lunch n’ learns. One way we were able to mitigate the chances of us missing any key shots was to have 2 light-workers capturing images on the most hectic day of the Summit. Additionally, our lead light-worker studied the schedule and shot-list while keeping in close communication with the Social Media team. This led to a successful event where all required shots were captured at optimal resolutions leaving the team and sponsors blown away at our attention to detail.

We felt very much at home at this event because Nexus’ mission aligns so well with ours--to cultivate the growth and expansion of entrepreneurial and philanthropic pursuits. The entrepreneurs that attended were all on a mission to carry out a significant purpose. We found that extremely inspiring. We felt a sense of belonging knowing that the event promoted the importance of building connections with other like-minded entrepreneurs and created a space for us to support each other's endeavors.
